Life Drawing DUMP

Some recent figgur draws from class!

And just for fun, here's a standard animator exercise we did where we replaced the figure with a potato sack ..

.. and another fun thing we did during break, where we passed our sketchbook over to the person next to us, and they drew 3 dots that we in turn had to use as markers for the nipples and navel of a figure, no matter how oddly shaped or proportioned it would look. This was mine. Yeah, I need to learn to take stuff seriously or something.

So yeah.

This is what I do when I get bored sometimes. You have to be wearing short-shorts for it to work, though. And before anyone says anything, yes, I am aware that there is a hand coming out of my butt.

Retro Space Lady

This was kind of an experiment in testing a new lineart inking technique. I think that it adds a lot more life to a character when they aren't simply inked in black. Prolly gonna continue coloring like this ... Anyway, this was inspired by one of the greatest movies of the 60s and possibly all time, Barbarella: Queen of the Galaxy.

Doodle Plop

More drawings of interesting looking real life people that have been accumulating over the summer. I love it when people are different looking, don't you?

60s ladies!

I have been on a real 60s kick lately! From the micro mini skirts and dresses to the crazy big eyelashes, it was really a decade of style, only to be rivaled by the 80s, hehe. These two ladies were inspired by some of my favorite 60s actresses and models.

Nother comic

So Lauren and I came up with the idea for this, like, forever ago, and then we forgot about it, and then we found the rough drawing of it when we were moving out of our apartment, and I thought it was too good not to share with the internet. I should probably start writing down my ideas as soon as they come to me, as I have the memory of a goldfish. Anyway, Rosalie can be awkward sometimes.

Here's a recent scene I did of Jules jazzersizing (I presume he is watching Flashdance). I am proud to say that I animated a gay man in a leotard.

Cafe Sketches

Here's some recent cafe skecthes I did over the break. Most of these are from Santa Barbara but some were done in Irvine too. A few late night Denny's drawings in there too I think.

Last LCAD semester of my life, you guys!! Can you believe it?! I'll spare you my sentimental ramblings and give you what you came here for:
